LONDON FASHION WEEK DAY 2 PIXIE LOTT GET’S TOLD TO SIT SECOND ROW WHILE LANA DEL REY GET’S HER OWN BAG!

Straight from the cobbles of Somerset House, home to LFW where we saw fashionistas slipping and sliding in their heels and rain yesterday, luckily the sun was out in force visiting Covent Garden today!

So much to fill you in on, so lets start with a quick round up of today’s shows, where we saw the collections of Nicole Fahri, Craig Lawrence, Topshop Unique and Vivienne Westwood. Some were much more exciting than others, but the trends that we have seen over the last few days were still very evident.

Nicole Fahri followed the knee length, the skinny belt pinched right in at the waist and the tulip hip cut trend, although this collection maybe a little to bland for everyday wear for a young fashionista. Going to the opposite end of the spectrum we saw Craig Lawrence, continuing the trend of a chocolate and caramel palette, but would probably be a little to risky to be ready to wear whilst out shopping girls….just saying! Vivienne Westwood stayed very true to form with her pinstripe and wrapped tailoring, however was very AW ’12 adding in the oversized coat and contrasting prints. Whilst Topshop Unique’s show space was very impressive, as was the collection worn by some very fresh-faced models. Bringing shimmer, a super huge over-sized clutch that might take a little bit of bicep training just to wear and of course the staple AW ’12 ankle boot.

However, most drama was seen at Stella McCartney and Mulberry for very different reasons! I am very impressed with designers that take their runway to a show, however Stella took her show to a performance!! With the likes of Kate Moss, Rihanna, Peter Blake, Zaha Hadid, Richard E Grant and Minnie Driver all seated and dining at what they thought was a normal celeb filled dinner, randomly a girl shouts at a waiter and a chair is thrown!! No, this is not another celebrity tantrum but the start of a full on flash-mob!! Take a look below

Now…did you notice the actual AW’12 collection? Didn’t think so!!….however this definitely got your attention. Great to see models that can move, clean cut tailoring and of course the statement black and sheer dress as seen on Kate Moss.

Whilst over at Mulberry, we had all sorts of shaggy fur going on, from the seats that were covered in them to the pieces in the collection. Again more of the chocolate and caramels were evident, with the skinny belt and knee length. Obviously, there is no way I can comment on a Mulberry collection without the mention of their latest ‘this season’ bag, say hello to the Del Rey that will be launched in May. It says something when Lana Del Rey gets a bag named after her….I’m sure there will be a Mulberry ‘Max’ and ‘Kat’ bag soon!! Ok, ok seriously, the bag is a take on old retro glamour and I’m sure will be seen on every arm in the press over the next few months. However, the show couldn’t possibly go drama free….Pixie Lott and her model boyfriend were told to sit second row, *shock horror* Her publicist promptly jumped in to ensure she was moved to the front row, where “The whole point is she is supposed to be front row” however with Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and Anna Wintour taking front row priority it was never gonna happen. You’re braver than I am if you want to take on Anna Wintour!! So Pixie, apparently stormed out, I guess it didn’t help that the other Pixie (Geldof) came and took her front row seat, whoops!! Oh how we love the whole “do you know who I am?” status’s in fashion!!!

Today’s stylist tip = Caramel and chocolate palette with a hint of shimmer, topped off with a statement ankle boot. Of course we’d love the Louboutin’s seen in Todd Lynn or the orange Mulberry’s – they can be sent straight to Max and I, thank you
