Young, British, Cheeky And Talented!!!!!!!!!! So Don't Hate!

I sat down with Tulissa, Faze and Dappy from N-Dubz recently to find out the real deal on the situation with their record label, management and performing at Glastonbury!!..

Max-Guys it’s been a minute..You had 3 big singles…then it just went quite, what happened?

Tulissa- Well obviously as you know there was a big buzz building and we were on a roll. We were having a few problems with the label we were with and of course we lost Dappys dad who is my Uncle and our manager, that kinda slowed down the process on what we were doing, we wanted to do 1 thing the label wanted to do another and we just came to a bit of a standstill. So we went our separate way, but we are back now with a new single ‘Ouch’ you can check out the video on Channel U and MTV BASE!!…

Max- When you put out ‘I Swear’ ‘Better Not Waste My Time’ and ‘Viva’..the perception was boy N Dubz are gonna blow they got TV and radio locked….what went wrong with the chart positions…?

Faze- You know what you are right…we had radio and TV but not enough promotion on the marketing side. Everyone was feelin the tracks but no one knew the release dates so we missed out chart positions, which was a bummer!! But we did a re-release with ‘Better Not Waste My Time’ and got a top twenty.

Dappy- I just wanna say something we are the dynamite trio, therefore we come with bangers every time we come with a tune. We don’t go into the studio and say we made 10 tunes today we make 2 and them tunes will go into that top twenty. We the best are you mad..we are back! The reason we’ve been away also is cause we’ve been in the studio mixing those bombs, you know like like soup with some hot sauce!!

Tulissa-We gonna give you 3 tracks back to back, Ouch, also the second track is a colloboration…..

Dappy interrupts- Let me break it down Ouch is for the lovers ladies and gentlemen, very deep. Then we got a track with Chipmunk for the streets its massive and then we will drop the big banger on our new label…

Max-So you were signed to a major before Polydor, this time round you must of gone in with more of an idea of what you needed and learnt from your past situation?

Tulissa-Well basically there’s a big difference this time before when we signed with Polydor a major label they had big priority acts like 50 Cent, and we were just not as important and were left on the shelf. This time we are with an independent who believe in us and will put 100 percent into our music, so we are really excited.

Max- Now you are gigging loads, I hear you will be joining the likes of Jay Z and Amy Winehouse, performing at Glastonbury this year, How did that happen?

Tulissa-Great management hook up, we can’t wait..Its gonna be the biggest show we have ever done??

Dappy-Yo and I don’t do wellies I would rather be barefoot in the mud!! lol

Max-Guys you have had your fair share of haters, how do you feel about those that label you ‘Cheesy’?

Dappy -Are they mad, we don’t make bedroom music we make hits, I would rather be compared to someone like Leona Lewis, we are not narrow minded we listen to all sorts of music including Sting The Police. We are ready to open our minds to the knowledge of music. And it’s all about hits hits!!!!!

The guys ended the interview with a live version of Ouch they killed it. And on the real…N Dubz are mad cool and they got talent, the kids like em..So give em a break!! You know what I don’t think people realise that Tulissa can really sing!! (that’s a shame)
